Weber Grill Covers

One of the more inexpensive ways of adding life to your grill is to use the proper grill cover. A barbecue grill cover protects your valuable grilling machine from bad weather and extreme temperatures as well as roaming animals. It is available in a wide range of lengths and sizes. Buying a grill cover from the manufacturer of your chosen grill is probably best because their covers are specifically designed for their own line of grills.

There are two basic styles of grill covers. Standard grill covers are generally one size that fits all. Typically, a cover of this type offers protection only on the upper portion of the grill excluding the other important parts of the grill which are the legs, fuel tank and the cart. You can have added protection by upgrading your standard cover with a gas tank cover. These covers are used to shield your propane tank. They are usually machine-washable and available in different colors and patterns.

Premium grill covers are fitted and hang almost to the ground. It provides protection for the legs, trays, shelves, gas tank and the entire grill cart. They are usually lined for temperature protection and may have closures such as drawstring cords, Velcro or snaps that ensure protection to the grill up to the bottom part. The most common materials used are heavy-duty vinyl or polyester with PVC backing. Some are made from nylon or canvass.

The choice of material matters as inexpensive materials such as cheap vinyl tends to rip or tear in the wind and rain. It also weakens in hot sun and again in wind and rain. A grill is an outdoor appliance which is subject to the elements of the environment. A grill cover protects grill parts to keep it looking and performing its best.

Grill covers are considered oversized to cover odd extensions of your grill such as burners and handles. A good cover should be easy to clean without the need to use any chemical. You should know the correct dimension of your grill to be able to order the right one. Your manual should contain that information.
